Ken Dodd Opens Diddy Daycare

Ken Dodd came along on Wednesday 11th March to officially open Diddy Daycare. A 54 place nursery housed within Dovecot Mac which is located at the back of Dovecot shopping parade.

Diddy Daycare is a nursery which caters for children from 6 weeks to 4 plus and is now officially open for business.

Nicola Collins manager of Diddy Daycare said ‘The day went really well. Ken spent around two hours at the centre, talking to children, families and students studying here. He also spent a lot of time having photographs taken with local residents and signing autographs. Ken was really interested in the fact that AVCT (Alt Valley Community Trust) would also be running childcare apprenticeships, offering placements at the nursery to some of its students’.

A local resident added ‘Ken was hilarious he had everybody in stitches. He really took the time to speak to as many people as he could, it was a great day’.

For more information about Diddy Daycare including prices, funded places for 2,3,and 4 year olds and popup childcare please contact Nicola Collins on 0151 230 0193 or email

Lawrence Kenwright tells his story at AVBN

The Liverpool-born entrepreneur behind Signature Living Group Lawrence Kenwright was the key speaker at the February meeting of the Alt Valley Business Network. He spoke to members about his business journey to date, his vision of developing the Signature Living brand, his latest acquisition of Millennium House and his plans for the Bill Shankly Hotel. It quickly became clear how Lawrence is a passionate Liverpudlian and equally passionate about employing Liverpool labour and suppliers whenever possible.

Lawrence took questions from a very attentive gathering of members.
