Library News – Summer Reading Challenge 2015

On Saturday 26th September, Croxteth Community Library held a special event to celebrate the success of this year’s ‘Children’s Summer Book Challenge’. Councillor Martin Cummins presented the certificates and medals.

The Children’s Summer Book Challenge is run across Liverpool City Libraries, and this is the fourth year in which Croxteth Community Library has participated, although City Region statistics are not available, Croxteth has increased numbers year on year from 15 children in the first year to a staggering 88 this year!  The children who took part ranged from 11months to 15years old. A BIG well done to you all!

A massive thank you also goes to Lesley Farrar for continuing to facilitate this event, furthermore thank you to all the library staff and volunteers for supporting the children to get involved.

AVCT Event Information Update

On Wednesday 16th September, AVCT held an ‘Information Event’ showcasing the many activites that the trust has to offer! The event went really well and many residents enrolled on to the adult courses that were available. For anyone who could not attend; dont worry as it is not too late to enrol.
