Progression/Career Pathways

This qualification will qualify you to gain employment as a hair and beauty salon manager. This is one of two VTCT qualifications in salon management at level 4. Whilst both qualifications enable you to become a salon manager, at 301 GLH this qualification is larger than the VTCT Level 4 Certificate in Salon Management and requires you to achieve more units and to develop a greater breadth of units. This qualification is suitable if you have no prior or informal experience in a managerial role within a salon, as it covers the full breadth of units you would need to successfully carry out the role of a salon manager. In contrast, the VTCT Level 4 Certificate in Salon Management is suitable for learners who have been undertaking supervisory or managerial functions within a salon as part of another role or for learners who have some experience in a salon manager’s role but who have no formal salon management qualifications. This qualification is not part of an apprenticeship.
