This course aims to provide learners with the opportunity to gain knowledge and understanding of safe nutrition and physical activity during pregnancy and after birth. The course aims to support the health and wellbeing of both mother and baby by helping learners develop healthy lifestyle habits, understand nutritional needs, and learn safe exercises that support pregnancy, recovery after birth and overall wellbeing.

• Recognise foods that should be limited or avoided during pregnancy.
• Understand the role of healthy eating in supporting recovery after birth and breastfeeding.
• Plan simple balanced meals and snacks that support maternal and baby health.
• Understand the benefits of physical activity during pregnancy and post-natal recovery
• Learn safe and appropriate exercises suitable for pre- and post-natal stages
• Understand the importance of pelvic floor exercises and core strength
• Recognise when exercise should be adapted or avoided during pregnancy and after birth
