Croxteth Youth Work

We are proud to be part of the Million Hours Funddelivering Creative Sessions for Young people. This funding helps provide support to young people from the age of 14-18 living around Croxteth, Merseyside who are at risk of anti-social behaviour. The project seeks to improve personal development in a safe environment through a carousel of creative activities.

AVCT Creatives offers a programme of extra Creative/Arts Opportunities/sessions funded by the Million Hours Fund. Young people can drop in and try any combination of activities. Sessions are open access, and they need no previous experience/skills.

ACTIVITIES:

  • Podcasting –how to research, script, record and publish podcasts
  • Music –musical instrument tasters (guitar, drums, keyboards)
  • Music Recording –introduction to sound production, sampling and effects
  • Dance – introduction to dance from ballet to streetdance
  • Drama – acting, script writing, production, set design, performance
  • Digital Media – introduction to digital design, virtual reality, digital art

Through a carousel of structured activities in music, dance, film, art, and drama, we are giving children and young people the chance to build confidence, improve wellbeing, and develop real creative skills. These opportunities are more than enrichment, they are stepping stones towards future pathways in the creative industries, ensuring that talent from our communities is recognised, nurtured, and supported to thrive
